Dental Implants

A dental implant is placed when you are missing one or more teeth. An implant is placed by an implant placement trained doctor- usually an oral surgeon or periodontist - that assesses your bone type and capacity to ensure your body will respond well to an implant. The implant then needs time (usually 3-6 months) to integrate with your bone before your dentist can place a crown on it to restore the tooth.
